Magdalene Hospitality House (MHH) will provide a safe and secure haven for families visiting their loved ones incarcerated in FCI Cumberland.  Many families have traveled great distances and neither have the funds to rest at local hotels nor to hire transportation to drive the distance between the city of Cumberland proper and Mexico Farms where the prison is situated.  Families may stay for one or two nights at MHH and will be served nutritious breakfasts and dinners free of charge.  Given prior notice MHH volunteers will meet families at the local bus and railroad stations and will also transport families to the prison for visiting hours on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and federal holidays.  Families will be treated with respect at all times and their privacy preserved.

In turn, families will keep the rules of the house:

Absolutely no alcohol or CDS use , or disturbance of neighbors;

At MHH no religious proselytizing by members of the staff will take place; however, MHH will provide a quiet meditation space for any family member who wishes to make use of it;

Children will be under the complete care of their families at all times, and the MHH staff will not provide baby-sitting; Donations of services, goods, or money will be accepted by MHH to help defray expenses although no donation will ever be required or expected;

Prayers for the imprisoned, their families and friends, and all prison staff –   professional and volunteer, and MHH itself are always accepted and greatly appreciated.
