Fauré Requiem at 3 pm

  • Date 11/03/2019

Our choir, under the direction of Scott Rieker and accompaniment of Mark Steiner will present Gabriel Fauré’s Requiem as part of our All Saint’s Day commemoration.  Composed between 1887 and 1890, the work focuses on eternal rest and consolation. In seven movements, the work is scored for soprano and baritone soloists, mixed choir, orchestra and organ. Fauré wrote of the work, “Everything I managed to entertain by way of religious illusion I put into my Requiem, which moreover is dominated from beginning to end by a very human feeling of faith in eternal rest.”
